Conversation Corner  - UAL Chelsea College of Art  x  Stockwell Community Center   |   London, England
Working on a diversly skilled team, our main goal was to create a furniture piece for the center’s outdoor plaza, as the area’s bareness allowed minimal opportunity for residents to spend time outside and utilize the space.
  • This furniture was designed to work with the plaza’s current infrastructure and not disturb the surrounding area.
  • The blue stripe aesthetically references the “River Efra” running directly beneath the center, symbolizing unity for the community; Yellow accents represent the center’s colorful entrance.
  • Prototyping & process: On-site research and stakeholder interviews, public critiques and iteration, 3D modeling in Fusion 360 and Sketchup, hand-drawn technical drawings, woodworking techniques and fastening for full scale models.
  • Acknowledgments: This project was chosen among nine others to be professionally fabricated for permanent installation, as well as considered for entry into the “Prototypes for Humanity” exhibition in Dubai.
